Using a premade embellishment

If you looook down, I made a bunch of premade embellishments
sort of like tags only not...and wouldyoubelieve
I forgot to do a post about them???
Geez, I need to hand in my blog badge LOL.
This page came together without a photo in mind
and it rolled into a very girlie page.
 Isn't that "tag" neat.
Has all the colors in it and so glad
I got it on a page really. I do believe I have one
more to go.
Anyway digging back into my "wayback box" I
found this photo of me back in the day.
Like way back in the day. 😐
Of course no date, but from the hair, the clothes
this is about 1974 or thereabout.
In my early 20's.
Oh if I only knew then what I know now.

And I did it again.
No title.
Sigh.

Watercolors and a bit of orange

Anyone else have trouble with orange?
It's a pretty color no doubt
but for some reason..........
Anyhoo, tossed in some watercolors with
some old stash.
I also just noticed I didn't roll with a title either.
Seems to work out okay.
Love that more stash is getting used and
it works perfect with this photo.
I didn't use any gesso on this - and it worked.
Rolled with 8.5x11 mostly because I'm running out
of regular 12x12 page protectors and neither HL or M's
really have what I want.
Did I mention both stores are downsizing their scrapbooking
aisles - not that they're cutting edge on anything
but it's good to have them to be able to see things live and in person.

Once again cards...

Happy Easter!!!
Once again my pal Holli came through.
We spent the day together- mostly going through
Tuesday Morning to see what goodies they had going on.
And since the mojo was on a break I shopped
her stamp section (I'm telling you Michael's would
be jealous) and found the chicks and bunnies
so I stamped a bunch of them while
we chit-chatted - and watercolored them in and then
when I got home fussy cut all of them out
while watching TV.

How cute are they.
Now to get them in the mail.

Stapling a photo to the mat

GASP!
I have seen others do it and almost cringed
but I put on my big girl panties
and tried it and love the result - it's kinda cool.
Who knew.
I have this problem with keeping photos - well
looking nice. It's just one of those things
that need getting over.
I also brought out some stitching down the paper
and if you don't look real close you won't
see that I have issues going straight.
Love the kraft embellies and they work
really well with the papers - from
the March kit.
My other granddaughter Annie also napping
with her puppies (stuffed).
It must have been the day for it - especially the girls.
What were the odds.
Love it.

Another foam stamps & enamel paint page

Say that three times fast LOL.
Well same set of stamps (not your ordinary
stamp set) just different ones
and different paint colors
but basically the same - except I flipped
the flowers to the top.
And I did fussy cut and punch some flowers
for some extra ooomphh!
It also works perfect with the B&W photo
that is soooo cool.
I can't figure if the it's Tuesay or August hanging
out and giving comfort to Amelia
who was feeling under the weather.

Would you believe I have absolute NO big size black
thickers in my stash????
Me either, but it's so - therefore I broke out
my Quikutz - emily font and wa-la.
Does anyone use die cut alphas anymore?
I love the white splatters with the bold colors
it makes me smile.
Tossed in a bunch of sequins and do
see those teeney tiny butterflies throughout?
Aren't they adorable?
It's an itty bitty punch.

How did I miss this photo?

 Like seriously?
It's such a cool, fun picture so it's a good
thing I was out trolling for
photos after making this page.
Keeping the matting light an airy with
just a pinch of embellies.
And I needed to use those stamps.
I especially like the one that says #fromwhereistand.
It's so perfect and I'll be using that a lot.
Because I can.
I also wanted to use the #squad - because it's cool and
totally is the photo.
How fun is this photo especially Cavin and Amelia.
Hanging on and Cavin being cool especially
with the rabbit ears and hanging on to Amelia
 and Amelia - dramatic.
Perfect.

White thread and splatters

I have used my sewing machine before
but this is the first time I just ran it around on the
pages making out of control circles.
Me and Nick - another throwback photo.
(it's not that dark in real life)
Love how it turned out - really simple and fun
with the circles.
Using the chipboard as a title next to some
Tim Holtz words.

St. Patrick's Day cards

are winging their way to the grands.
I'm changing things up as they are growing up
and I realized I don't need to make them all alike.
Like doh!
I have had this paper forever, and my pay Holli
gave me some sparkly shamrocks and leprechauns
for some snappy embellishments.

I do need to step up my card making skills - cards
like double pages baffle me.
Anyhoo, we had our Murphy Clan St. Pat's day this
past Sunday and we it was soooo good
meeting up with the Murphy's.

Reminisce
 (are they still around?)

Throwback

So yeah yeah I don't do enough about me.
Not sure why either.
However, we shall endeavor to do better.
Maybe....
Those flowers were fussy cut from a 12x12 paper
and then I popped them up.
I was in Michael's and found a stencil
with those adorable fairies - you'll be seeing them
a lot on the granddaughter pages.
Using the packaging technique I splatted
watercolors all about and then the title - sigh.
I really couldn't think of one so
 I found #throwback
that really works for the throwback photo is of moi.

So that was me back in 1984 - still sporting a Farrah 'do
in my natural color.
That was 2 years after Nick was born.
Life was going really good.
There's a tag tucked in the bag that I haven't
journaled on yet. It's perculating on the back of the brain right now.

Black & White monochromatic look

Keeping it real simple on this one.
A photo I took, and developed myself, back in the day
 of my favorite eldest son
snoozing.
For some reason, the black laser cut paper was
whacked down to 6x12 so another piece in my
stash forever is now on a page.
I used it to cover those dumb doilies on the paper
that I had no idea what to do with.
Win-win.
How adorable is that.
Used some of Tim Holtz words because
they covered it all, broke out
my Quikutz Spicy Chicken alphas for the title.
I really need to use them more....
I did use that blue bow mostly because I liked it
but it was the only one that color remaining so.......
The flourish under "dream" is also a Quiktuz die - woohoo!

That baby boy just turned 36 😐😮💗.

Before cutfiles there were laser cut backgrounds

I can't think of the word I want to describe this
and its making me crazy.
Anyway, I had this laser cut background forever
and it also had a chunk out of it but I wanted to
use.it.up and get it out of my stash.
Backed in on white cardstock and broke out
some SpareParts flowers and Tim Holtz ephemera
a bird here, a butterfly there with a watch face.
Used some gold mists in the background
to add a bit of color for the
b&w photo of my Aunts Ruthie and Toot.
I have no idea why they have kimonos on - so I used
that entire pack of flowers I had forever,
more stash down - woohoo!!!

Foam stamps and enamel paint

I have a ton of them because at one point
foam stamps were totally
en vogue for scrappers everywhere.
So, I broke out an old, old set that came as a
kit of the month, named as "Not your ordinary stamp set."
It has everything in it, from month stamps, flowers and
stuff in all shapes and sizes.
I then took out my studio calico color theory paints
and wa-la (except for white) that I wasn't using much and
look at those vibrant colors.
I need to work on my painting skills but I do love the result.
Nuvo drops in gold are the flower centers.
So wild, bold, and colorful on kraft paper.
I love kraft paper.
I made a mat cluster with that amazing gold doily
(doily and tag people LOL)
to highlight the small photo
of my gram with my favorite eldest son - so
that would be his great grandmother -Mammy - he
had trouble with G's.

Mom, Nick and I were bringing Mammy back to Florida
for a visit and Nick just needed out of his
car seat for a moment - and of course she sat in the
back with him.
It was fun to have her with us.

The title doesn't stand out here but works in real life.
Tim Holtz words that say it all.
